On 16 December 2013, the airline launched daily scheduled flights to Kolkata, marking its growing presence in the regional aviation market.
Today, Bhutan Airlines operates daily flights between Bangkok and Paro, with a stopover in Kolkata, India, ensuring seamless travel between these important destinations. Additionally, the airline offers six flights per week to Kathmandu, excluding Fridays, providing flexibility and convenience for travelers.
The airline was established in response to the increasing demand for enhanced comfort from the growing number of travelers to and from Bhutan. Bhutan Airlines offers an authentic Bhutanese experience from the moment passengers board, providing a sense of familiarity and warmth throughout the journey.
The airline’s highly professional team includes four experienced Captains and Bhutanese cabin crews, trained to provide the highest levels of safety and hospitality. Their commitment to excellence ensures that the in-flight experience reflects Bhutan’s unique culture.
As tourism is a major pillar of Bhutan’s economy, Bhutan Airlines supports the Royal Government of Bhutan’s vision for high-value, low-impact tourism, helping maintain the country’s exclusivity and offering high-quality experiences. The airline’s strategic operations, connecting cities like Bangkok, Kolkata, Delhi, and Kathmandu, enhance accessibility and boost tourism.
