NEPAL RASTRA BANK WILL DISTRIBUTE NEW NOTE FROM TODAY

Nepal Rastra Bank, which has been distributing new notes for Dashain every year, is going to give only new notes this time. Rashtra Bank, which has been providing the same facilities as new notes for Dashain, said that it has stopped issuing new notes to manage expenses.

In order to manage the expenses, the National Bank had planned to proceed with the practice of issuing dry notes instead of new notes a few years ago. Rashtra Bank Assistant Spokesperson Dr. Dilliram Pokharel informed that old new notes will be replaced but not new notes.

According to the National Bank, this decision has been taken to encourage digital transactions and to reduce the cost of printing notes.

Assistant Spokesperson Pokharel said that those who need small and large denomination notes on Dashain will be arranged through the New Note Bank, which was sent back to the market a year ago.

The Rashtra Bank, which has been providing the facility of small denomination notes of 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 for Dashain , will provide the facility of the same note this time. The National Bank has informed that this time too, notes will be issued at around 18,500 per person.

According to the National Bank, looking at the five-year average, one billion 300 million rupees are being spent annually for printing new notes.
